Contemporary full polished calf, spine elaborately gilt tooled in six compartments with contrasting label, boards with blind-tooled border and gilt ruled edges (outer joints tender and wear at edges of boards). Pp. [iv] + 204, illus with large folding map and engraved frontispiece (small worm holes on front paste-down and front free endpaper; map with small tears at centre and endpapers toned at edges; residue of previous owner's inscription in contemporary hand on front paste-down).
