Contemporary full speckled calf, raised-ribbed gilt ruled spine in six compartments with contrasting label, boards with gilt rolled gilt fillet border, gilt tooled edges and returns and marbled endpapers (small abrasions on boards and edges lightly rubbed). Pp. [iv] + vi + 140 + [4] blank illus with an aquatint engraving by Alken (previous owners' bookplates on front paste-down and light toning on reverse of front and rear free endpapers).
