Contemporary full green calf, spine gilt ruled in five compartments with contrasting label, boards with triple gilt filet and stamped borders, gilt tooled board edges and returns, matching marbled edges and endpapers (boards partly faded with a little discolouring - otherwise VG). Pp. [ix] + iii + [1] + 319 + [3] blank, with half title and publisher's catalogue on pink paper bound-in at front, illus with engraved portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard and engraving on title, pages printed in double columns (previous owner's armorial bookplate on front paste-down and inscription on half title).
